Why We Need to Walk Humbly with God

11

Whether you’re new to the faith or you’ve been walking with God for a long time, you may be wondering why you need to be humble. The answer to this question has to do with the fact that you are created in the image of God, and that you deserve to know the beauty of His mercy, love, and justice. You should also remember that He wants to use you to bring Him glory. Lastly, when you’re humble, you’ll be more apt to pray.

Justice

Among the things God requires his followers to do is to walk humbly with him. This means not being proud of ourselves or arrogant in our relationships with others. Instead, we should seek the honor of God’s name, and recognize that He has allowed us to reach our goals.

While many call for justice, the Bible calls us to go further than that. We must love and do justice. This means that we should turn away from sin and act in ways that are good for others.

Justice is defined as “moral rightness”. Specifically, it is the act of keeping covenants with God, and intentionally withdrawing your hand from iniquity. It is also the act of walking in God’s statutes, and it is the action of resolving conflicts.

Mercy

Whether you are a Christian, a Muslim, or a Hindu, there is a lot to be said for mercy. Mercy is an attitude of compassion that looks beyond what someone else deserves. In turn, it means doing what’s right.

In the biblical world, justice is a combination of being just and being kind. God requires that we do these three things and the Bible is full of reminders of this.

There are some people who will string themselves up to draw near to God in religious excitement. Others will sit humbly in His presence during meditation or prayer. The third group of people will do something practical in their lives.

While all three of these may be important, they are rarely observed. The most important is the third.

Eternity

Getting to know God and walking humbly with God is a good way to live. It will make you a better person, will make you look better to others, and will make your life a testimony to God and man. It will also help you get to heaven.

The first thing you need to know is that God is Eternal. He is the only true life giver. He is the only one with perfect righteousness. His crown is unfading, and it never fades. It is also the only one with the power.

The second thing you need to know is that walking is not hard. It is practical and does not require a lot of effort. It is not hard to get to know God and walk humbly with God. You need to act out what you know about God, and train your children to follow in godly footsteps.

Watching and praying

During the end times, Jesus urged his disciples to watch and pray. He warned that the days were coming when people would be caught off guard, and many would be tempted to stray from God’s path. But Jesus said to pray and watch so that they would be able to escape from the temptation.

Jesus’ words can be a lesson for us today. So many people today sleep in the Garden of Gethsemane without watching or praying for their temptation. But we need to watch and pray so that we may be able to live as though the end times are coming.

When people walk humbly with God, they are not proud. Their life is worthy to both God and men. They are not ashamed of their sins. They have come to God as sinners condemned by the law. The Lord’s grace enables them to be humble.

Dignity

Having a noble spirit is a great way to honor God. The word “dignity” has become a bit of a buzzword in our society, but the true meaning of this term has been forgotten by many. The Holy Spirit can bring people back to their dignity if they allow him to do so.

There are many things a person can do to demonstrate dignity. They can give all their money or possessions to poor people or string themselves up in religious fervor and draw near to God. The best way to display dignity is to worship God. This requires a person’s whole heart and mind.

A person with a noble spirit will perform great things for God. They will not be proud of their accomplishments but will also not be ashamed of what they have achieved. They will also be humble in their pursuit of God’s favor.
