What is SEO? SEO (Search Engine Optimization) translates as optimizing your website for search engines.
Each SEO strategy focuses on ranking your website at the top of search engine results.
And when we talk about Search Engine Optimization we are talking about organic rather than paid, through advertising in Adwords, search results.
Google’s algorithm defines (… finally) what is SEO
In order for web pages to appear in high positions in search results, SEO tries to create a web page that meets the standards set by Google’s algorithm.
Google (or any search engine) has a crawler that “scans” and gathers information about all the content it can find online.
Detectors bring all this data to the search engine to create an index.
This index is the reservoir of the algorithm that tries to match all the data with the user’s query in the search engine and then offers it the best result.
Although the algorithm remains secret, an SEO expert has a pretty good idea of all the important SEO factors that affect it.
These are divided into 2 main categories: On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO.
1. On-page SEO
It’s everything you can do within your website. The structure of your site, the speed of your website, and – above all – its content and how it is structured are some important SEO factors on the page.
2. Off-page SEO
Off-Page factors are a little harder to influence. The most important off-page factor is the links to your website.
The more sites linked to your site, the higher your ranking will be at Google, (in the best case scenario these sites are of high quality and on the subject that deals with your own site).
Another off-page factor is the competition your website has with other websites of similar content, or if you are a company, with companies that belong to the same industry as yours.
Simply put, the competitiveness that exists in the market in which you move significantly affects your position in the search engine rankings.
SEO takes time and targeting
SEO should be a long-term strategy.
Using sinuses to “fool” Google’s algorithm simply doesn’t work.
Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.
To make better use of your SEO efforts content around long-tail keywords should be produced. Long-Tail Keywords can be found using a long tail keyword tool. Click here to learn more about Long Tail Keywords.
