The most widely used UPI app in India, PhonePe has now introduced a new feature that allows users to make international payments via the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). This feature will enable Indians traveling abroad to pay foreign merchants using their UPI account.
NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) and NIPL (NPCI International Payments Limited) are working on rolling out this feature to more countries. The launch currently supports international merchant outlets in UAE, Singapore, Mauritius, Nepal, and Bhutan with a local QR code.
PhonePe, one of the most popular instant payment platforms with 350 million registered users, has recently launched a new UPI feature that allows customers to activate UPI using Aadhaar card details instead of bank account information. This feature is said to streamline the e-KYC process for registration on the app.
Previously, the registration onboarding process on PhonePe required debit card information. This restricted access for many Indian bank account holders who did not have ready debit cards handy.
With the upgrade, the PhonePe app will allow users to activate UPI services via Aadhaar-based OTP authentication, enabling customers to complete the onboarding process by entering their Aadhaar card details instead of their bank account details.
After entering the Aadhaar card details, PhonePe will send an OTP to the customer’s linked mobile number. Once the OTP is received, the user can set up their UPI PIN and make payments through UPI.
Adding your bank account on PhonePe is a simple process. To begin, download and install the app on your mobile device.
Once the app is open, you will be prompted to enter your registered mobile number and password. Once this is done, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number to verify that you are the right person using the bank account.
Next, PhonePe will retrieve all your bank account details and link it to UPI. After this, you can use your UPI PIN to make payments.
You can use PhonePe to send money, reload mobiles, pay utility bills, recharge DTH, and pay for things online. In addition, it allows users to transfer funds between any two accounts without needing personal information.
A UPI PIN is a four or six-digit number that the users set themselves when activating their UPI account or later. It is used by UPI-enabled apps such as Google Pay, PhonePe, BHIM, and Amazon Pay to ensure security.
UPI enables users to instantly transfer money from one bank account to another through UPI-enabled mobile applications. The process is easy, safe, and secure.
In case you have forgotten your UPI PIN and need to reset it, there are a few simple steps that you can follow. These steps will help you to change or reset your UPI PIN quickly and safely.
First, open the PhonePe app and select your profile at the top left corner of the screen. Then, choose your desired bank account that you would like to change or reset your UPI PIN.
If you’re a merchant in India, you can start accepting payments via PhonePe as a UPI payment method. This UPI-based system is an easy and safe way to get paid at your e-commerce store.
Moreover, it is free to receive money from anyone who uses PhonePe. You can receive money instantly if your bank account is connected to the app.
The PhonePe app has a ” Share ” feature that allows you to send money to your friends. All you have to do is share your PhonePe QR Code with them over social media.
Once you’re done, they can scan the QR Code to make a payment. The money will then be transferred to their account.
You can also add money to your PhonePe wallet using your credit card. However, this is only available to consumers who have completed their KYC requirements.
