Buying a Subaru Impreza

Compared to some of its competitors, the Subaru Impreza offers a lot of value in the way of performance, comfort, safety, and fuel economy. The EyeSight suite of active safety functions is a great example of this. The new Subaru is also available with an all-wheel-drive, which means you can go off-road in comfort and safety. And with a wide variety of options, it’s easy to find a model that suits your needs.

All-wheel-drive system

Unlike most all-wheel drive systems, Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is an active system, always engaged. It also offers increased safety, better acceleration, and more stable cornering.

Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel drive includes a center differential, a front differential, and driveshafts that are equally long. This helps reduce chassis rolling, increasing confidence in any situation.

Subaru’s center differential uses a viscous coupling to react to differences in wheel grip. It sends up to 80% of the available torque to the axle with the best traction. This torque split is great for daily driving, but the system can also be set to manually control how much twist is sent to each axle.

Wheelbase

Compared to the previous generation, the wheelbase of the Subaru Impreza has been expanded. This has increased the space in the back seats. With the five-door hatchback, it offers an extra 20.8 cu ft of trunk space.

The Impreza’s interior has an ergonomic design. It has ample legroom and has the option to have either cloth or leather upholstery. The interior has a 6.5-inch touchscreen display. It also features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. There is also a rearview camera, an auxiliary input jack, and seven airbags. The base model also includes a single USB input port.

The base Impreza 2.5i comes with a 2.0-liter DOHC FB20 engine that produces 152 horsepower and 152 lb-ft of torque. It also has a five-speed manual transmission. The 2.5 RS produces 182 horsepower and 136 lb-ft of torque.

Engine

Powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder boxer engine, the Impreza is offered as a sedan and hatchback. It features a five-speed manual transmission and Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT). It has an AWD system. Its base 2.5i model has an engine output of 152 horsepower, while the higher-powered models have up to 260 horsepower.

The third series Impreza has a wider wheelbase and improved vibration levels. It uses a MacPherson strut setup for the front suspension and frameless windows. It also has lower noise levels and better harshness.

In Japan, the Impreza is available with a 2.0-liter, direct-injection boxer-four engine. The engine has a rated output of 152 horsepower, and it is available with a 5-speed manual and Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT). The engine produces 145 lb-ft of torque and has an estimated 38 mpg on the highway. The WRX and WRX STI models are also offered with the engine.

Suspension

Adding a suspension upgrade to your Subaru Impreza can have several benefits. These include improved handling, better braking performance, and a smoother ride. It also improves the overall drivability of your car by lowering the center of gravity. This helps keep your wheels from rolling on curves, which in turn increases the safety of your ride. You can also opt to upgrade your suspension with a Coilover or air suspension kit.

A Coilover will not only lower the center of gravity but will also improve steering and handling. It may also require the replacement of your springs, which could be in order if you’re looking to go full-track mode.

EyeSight suite of active safety functions

Whether you’re driving on the highway, in your neighborhood, or just driving down the street, Subaru EyeSight can help you to stay safe. It uses dual cameras to scan the road for dangers. It also helps to detect objects in front of your car. This can reduce the severity of a collision.

The EyeSight system is available on Subaru models, including the Impreza, Ascent, and Legacy. It includes several active safety features to help you avoid a collision, and it even can bring your car to a full stop.

EyeSight also uses an onboard computer to give you a three-dimensional view of the road ahead. It can detect objects in front of your car, lane markings, and other traffic hazards. It can also help to steer your car back into your lane if it detects that you’re moving too fast.

Fuel economy

Getting good fuel economy is an important consideration if you are looking for a new car. For the Subaru Impreza, there are a few different options to consider.

First, you need to know what type of transmission you will be using. There are two types: a continuously variable automatic and a five-speed manual. Generally, a CVT will offer better fuel economy than a manual. It also offers a smoother shift and great acceleration.

Another factor to consider is how long you will be driving it. If you are planning on spending a lot of time on the road, it may be worth it to upgrade to a hybrid. The Impreza XV 2.0L Hybrid offers great fuel economy and handling.
